Plan with me for 2021
Are you looking forward to the upcoming year? Or not too sure what’s going to happen after all that 2020 had become?
I used to be quite intentional about goal setting, but part of myself doesn't like the idea of getting too fixated on a goal because things happen - we all know that was the case this past year! It’s freeing to go with the flow, instead of stressing over plans. However, I understand the value in taking time to intentionally vision cast and reflect on what has happened to continue to improve, so for the past few weeks, I’ve done a bit of goal setting for 2021.
For many years, I’ve always set out goals in three different categories - myself, my relationships, and my work. Some of these goals are simple reminders or habits I’m trying to get back into, but when it boils down to it, I hope to be the best version of myself to better love the people and world around me, and I look forward to doing so with joy and a positive spirit. Check out the video above for all the details on my goals for the upcoming year and a summary below, and I hope some of my aspirations inspires you to look towards 2021 with optimism.
Goals for the new year
Below are some simple goals and reminders for the three categories I focus on in my daily life - each happen to have three subcategories under each to focus on as well.
Me
When we work on bettering ourselves, we’re able to better take care of others and the world around us.
Physical. Exercise at least 5 times a week - 30 minutes of cardio paired with a workout video, bike at least once a week to run errands, and remember to tidy up my physical surroundings
Mental. Set an intentional day of rest each week to unplug, work on ‘How to Draw Almost Everyday’ book to unwind in the evenings
Spiritual. Get back into a simple bible reading plan of one chapter a day with journaling and prayer, slow down and learn to abide instead of running ahead
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." - John 15:5
My relationships
We were made to be relational and intentional with the people around us - let’s not take the people in our life for granted.
Peter. Create an intentional space for one another by planning a fun monthly date night
Family. Continue to serve in love by cooking more homemade meals and baking for them
Friends. Schedule more regular meetups with old and new friends, cultivate the relationship and pray for them always
My work
The work we do is a meaningful outlet to bless the world with our talents and gifts.
simply by christine. Continue to sharpen the quality and vision for content, look for ways to give back and volunteer
christine’s cookie co. Have a clear action plan for sustainability and community impact, grow our customer base to have the means to do that, and develop more delicious cookie flavors
church. Consider ways to balance my current plate of responsibilities, do whatever I am given to the best of my abilities whether it’s worship, church communications, small group coordination, etc.
