Declutter my bedroom with me

Spring is quickly turning into summer, which means it's time to finish up my spring cleaning and keep going through my decluttering process. If you missed my first two videos, be sure to check them out if you need inspiration for how to declutter your living area and kitchen - this particular post and video go through a quick decluttering session of my bedroom.

My bedroom is quite sparse already so there’s not too much to clean out, but a quick session can help keep things organized and to the essentials. Find some decluttering tips below and what I decluttered, and a thank you to Idenati for also sponsoring this video - more details at the bottom of this post.

What I decluttered

While there weren’t too many things to declutter in my bedroom and closet, here are a few things I decided to organize, clean, and declutter. Perhaps they will help you in your minimalism journey as well!

Immediate visual clutter

Do the quick 10-minute clean up and pick up items that are taking up space on surfaces, tables, etc. - the quick win for any decluttering session

Clothing that no longer fits

If there are clothing pieces that you haven’t touched in a while, or wish that fit a bit better - your style could also be changing

Try to sell or gift clothing first to make sure it’s given a second chance - donate or recycle as a last resort, or call local secondhand shops or shelters to see what they need

Items to repurpose or fix

Any clothing pieces in need of a little love? Be sure to prolong the lifespan of your clothing by repairing them or sending them to a local repair shop

Miscellaneous items that got lost

Closets are easy places to hide items you don’t want to think about

Try your best to find a way to repurpose these items or find a new home for them - again, sell, gift, then donate and recycle as a last resort so items are not wasted
